After 4 years of undying wait, the biggest sporting carnival, the FIFA World Cup 2022 is finally here. We are just a week away from the commencement of the official tournament, but the excitement to witness the carnival is sky-high.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 begins on November 20th with Qatar taking on Equador in the tournament opener at Al Bayt stadium in Qatar. A total of 32 teams shall be playing the tournament. This includes the star teams like FIFA 2018 Winners France, Runner-up Croatia, Germany, Argentina, Portugal, Brazil, etc.
About FIFA World Cup 2022:
32 teams have been divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. Each team from the respective group will play a total of 3 group-stage matches. That’s a total of 48 group-stage matches. Post that, there will be eight quarter-finals, two semi-finals, one 3rd place match, and one final. The final shall be played at the Lusail stadium on December 18.
In terms of stadiums, Qatar shall conduct 60 matches in 8 amazing stadiums. This includes the likes of Al Bayt, Khalifa International, Al Thumama, Ahmad Bin Ali, Lusail, Stadium 974, Education City, and Al Janoub.
